A partial list of some really special events and observances:

Visitors' Candles

Always ready to extend a heartfelt welcome to new members of our spiritual family, the Newcomers Committee is alert for folks carrying votive candles at coffee hour. The candles are distributed to visitors at Sunday services, not as gifts, but as symbols that we have shared the light of Christ as a family. Those from far away will be reminded of that sharing when they return home; those newly arrived in our community are warmly encouraged to leave the candle at home and bring themselves back to Trinity. We'll save you a seat.

Trinity's Colonial Fair on the Square

Held annually on the church campus, overlooking Newport harbor, the Colonial Fair on the Square is a lively mix of kids' activities, arts and crafts, auctions (both silent and boisterous), gourmet treats, plants and cut flowers. To kick off the day's entertainments and activities, the previous evening features a traditional "Founders' Feast' under a tent overlooking Queen Anne Square and Newport Harbor. Proceeds from the Fair are the primary source for funding of outreach activities.

Homecoming Sunday

An important September date on the parish calendar, Homecoming Sunday marks Christian Formation registration for adults and children. All of Trinity's active and dedicated committees and groups are on hand to welcome those who want to further their involvement in the life of the parish.

Plum Pudding Stir

An old-fashioned Advent tradition, the Plum Pudding Stir, held at coffee hour, encourages parishioners to swirl a spoon through a big bowl full of Trinity's fragrant plum pudding dough. The stirring symbolizes the stirring up of the Spirit during Advent. Samples of the pudding are available for taste-testing, and containers of the delicious mixture (complete with directions for preparation) always sell briskly. The proceeds go to support Trinity's outstanding music programs. This event is one of the many heart-warming events of the month-long Christmas in Newport celebration, which draws visitors from all over the world.
