Where we gather:

At the corner of Spring and Church Streets,

at the top of Queen Anne Square, in Newport, Rhode Island.

Here's how to get there:

 From New York/Points West:

• Interstate 95 to Rte. 138 (University of R.I.) exit.

• Rte. 138 East for approximately 20 miles to Rte. 1 intersection.

• Left on Rte. 1 for 3 miles: Exit for Jamestown/Newport bridge.

After crossing the Newport Bridge, take the first exit to the right for downtown Newport. Turn right at the end of the ramp at the stop sign. Proceed straight on Farewell St., past the first light and the cemeteries. At the second light bear left. Proceed straight and at the stop sign continue (now on Thames St.) Go past one stop sign, then continue straight past the light at Pier One Imports. (See local directions below).

From Boston/Points North:

• Rte. 24 South past Fall River and Tiverton.

• Cross Sakonnet River.

• Rte. 24 ends and becomes Rte. 114 South.

Follow Rte. 114 into Newport (about 7 miles), where it becomes Broadway. Continue straight on Broadway past the Police Station on right and City Hall on left. Broadway ends in Washington Square at the light facing Brick Market and Pier One Imports. Make a left onto Thames St. (See local directions below).

Local Directions:

Proceed on the cobblestones of Thames St. and stay to your left until you see Trinity Church, a large white colonial church, up the hill on your left. Park here or go around the church making left turns on Mill St., then Spring St., then Church St. A municipal parking lot is part way down Church St. on the right.
