Trinity is a community of Episcopalians gathered by Christ, serving and supporting one another and those in need.  We can best do that by housing the Newport Community School adult learning center on our campus.

The Newport Community School is not part of the Newport City School system.  It is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization changing lives on the island by providing education, training, job readiness skills and certifications and job placement services to adults.

Trinity is an ideal location for the school.  It is easily accessible via public transportation and walking.  The new building will feature flexible meeting spaces that can easily be configurable to classrooms of different sizes and which would be otherwise empty during the week.  The flexibility of class schedules will make it possible to house both traditional church functions and the classes.  Eventually, the school and church offices should be able to share office facilities, lowering administrative costs for both organizations.  Trinity will have many more people on campus on a regular basis.

From a business point of view, Trinity benefits from this arrangement in that it will have access to needed space for traditional ministries that are up-to-date and appealing to old and new members alike.  By paying rent, the school will provide a stable foundation for building operations.  The building will have no wasted space.
